This platform is dedicated to raising awareness about romance scams that escalate into inheritance scams. These scams exploit trust, emotions, and religious values, leaving victims emotionally and financially devastated.
A romance inheritance scam occurs when a con artist manipulates someone they are in a "relationship" with, convincing them that marriage is urgently required to access a substantial inheritance. Once the victim agrees, the scammer often requests significant amounts of money, claiming it’s needed for travel, visa arrangements, or other marriage-related expenses.
While looking to get married, I met a woman on a Muslim marriage site. She was from Russia, presented herself as a good Muslim, and claimed to care for her sick mother. She convinced me to pay for her visa and airline tickets, claiming she couldn’t afford them.
Eventually, she revealed a story about a large inheritance that would only be released if she got married. I realized too late that it was all a scam. Even people who swear on Allah’s name can be deceitful.
